Aurora Iceland (the app and this website) is provided by Medalheimur ehf., Iceland. By using either, you agree to these terms.
Forecasts are estimates
Aurora and weather forecasts are honest, best-effort estimates built from public data sources (NOAA SWPC, Open-Meteo). Nature does not follow forecasts. We accept no liability for a missed display, a clouded-out night, or decisions you make based on the app — including driving. Always check road and weather conditions before driving in Iceland.
The app and the standard EULA
Use of the iOS app is governed by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these terms conflict with it for App Store purchases, Apple’s EULA prevails.
Purchases
The Aurora Pass (7-day trip pass) and the annual subscription are sold through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Billing, refunds, and cancellation are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. The trip pass is a one-off purchase — it expires on its own and never renews.
Acceptable use
Don’t abuse the service: no scraping the API at scale, no attempting to disrupt alert delivery for others, no reverse-engineering paid features.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Disputes belong before the courts of Iceland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
